Installing the Wind Turbine

The twin wind-rotors are craned onto the tower. The twin wind-rotors are craned onto the tower.


The Strand Wind Project had a number of construction and installation elements.

  • Building and painting the tower
  • Electrical and data conduits
  • Electrical connection
  • Concrete footings
  • Assembly of the wind-rotor
  • Installing tower and rotor

These pictures show: 1) the conduits being laid and 2) the reinforcing steel bar in the footings. 3) Shows the fresh concrete during the pour process and 4) the footings after the pour was complete and backfilled with earth.
