State Finalists
Selected for EPA Clean Beach Challenge 2003

Australia Beautiful Council (Qld) Inc [KABCQ] has selected the finalists
for the EPA Clean Beach Challenge 2003 State Awards to be presented in
December (full list attached).
KABCQ Chief Executive Officer Barton Green said award ceremonies had been
held across Queensland in late October and early November to announce
the regional winners in the EPA Clean Beach Challenge.
“In each of our six judging regions, awards were presented for the overall
Cleanest Beach as well as in nine Outstanding Accomplishment categories,”
Mr Green said.
“Almost 60 regional awards were announced and now we have completed the
difficult task of shortlisting the top three in each category as finalists
for the State titles.”
The State Awards will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition
Centre from 7.00pm on Friday, 5 December.
The six regional Cleanest Beach winners automatically qualify as finalists
for the State title:

1. Trinity Beach - Far North Qld
2. The Strand - North Qld
3. Bargara Beach - CQ-Wide Bay
4. Moffat Beach - Sunshine Coast
5. Coochiemudlo Island Emerald Fringe - Moreton Bay
6. South Stradbroke Island Ocean Beach - Gold Coast
From all six judging regions, the top three in each Outstanding Accomplishment
Award category have been shortlisted as the finalists for the Queensland
title in that category:
