Carbon trading is one
of the key tools to reduce greenhouse emissions as it allows for emissions
abatement at the lowest cost. Under Kyoto there are a number of trading
mechanisms such as Clean Development Mechanism and Joint Implementation.

Asia
Carbon Pte Ltd was formed in February 2003. Its principal objective
is to promote environmentally-friendly and sustainable projects that
reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions in Asia. According to projections of
the IPCC, Asia will emit about half of greenhouse gas emissions that
are responsible for global warming by 2050. Asia Carbon Pte Ltd has
therefore stepped forward to mitigate the effects of global warming. |
